Compact Florescent Light Bulbs

Print
Share

In recent years many people have switched out their old inefficient incandescent light bulbs and replaced them with compact florescent bulbs as a quick and inexpensive means of saving energy. These new bulbs are also known by the acronym CFLs and have been called "curly-Q" bulbs based on their often spiral shape. New regulations have gone into effect that will slowly phase out incandescent bulbs, and after several years of service some of the early CFLs are no longer working. With these circumstances in mind there is a need to help folks understand the facts about CFL efficiency, their safety, how to properly dispose of them, and what to do if one breaks.
