Welcome to y Ovations Food Services, the premier and exclusive caterer for the Berglund Center. This section is designed to assist you in planning your event. Our menus have been carefully crafted by our expert chef and can be tailored and customized to fit your needs.

When planning any event, selecting the perfect site is critical. To be truly successful, all social or business gatherings require great food. That’s where we come in. Our on-site catering staff is second to none at providing extraordinary meals while keeping an eye on the bottom line. We’ll treat your guests to something really special with imaginative menus as well as traditional favorites that taste even better than homemade. From a small breakfast meeting to an elegant banquet for 2,500, let us know how our quality and service can provide you with a successful event - at an excellent price.

Ovations Food Services offers full service catering which includes china, service accessories, and personnel. All prices are subject to a 20% catering supplemental fee and 12% sales tax. If your group is tax exempt, that information must be provided in writing prior to the signing of the final contract. Floral arrangements and linens are available at an additional charge. Depending on the nature of event set-up, catering supplemental fees may be greater than 20%.

The Berglund Center has space for any event from small corporate meetings to plated dinners for 2,500. Room rental rates vary depending on the event and food and beverage needs. Please contact Cathy Ring at 540-853-6860 for space availability and quotes.


Outside Food and Beverages:
Ovations Food Services maintains the exclusive right to provide all food and beverage, and concession services at the Berglund Center. Any exceptions must be requested and obtained by prior written approval of the General Manager or Assistant General Manager of Ovations Food Services. Food items may not be taken off the premises; however, excess prepared food may be donated under regulated conditions to agencies feeding the underprivileged at Ovations sole discretion.

Food and Beverage Sampling:
The Berglund Center exhibitors may distribute Food & Beverage samples in authorized space and must not be in competition with products or services offered by Ovations Food Services. Samples must be representative of the products manufactured or sold by the company with the exhibit. Free samples are limited to 2 ounces of non-alcoholic beverages and 2 ounces of a food sample. Exact descriptions of sample and portion size must be submitted to the Ovations Office for written approval 14 days prior to the opening of the event. The distribution of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited unless provided by Ovations Food Services. Any exhibitor giving away and/or selling food in their booth must have a permit and all appropriate fees on file with the Virginia Department of Health.

Beverage Service:
Ovations Food Services offers a complete selection of beverages to compliment your function. The Virginia Alcohol and Beverage Commission regulate alcohol and beverage services. As a licensee we are responsible for the administration of these regulations. Alcoholic beverages may not be brought onto the premises from outside sources without prior consent of the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager of Ovations Food Services. In compliance with ABC regulations, we reserve the right to ask patrons for proper identification for alcoholic beverage service. We reserve the right to refuse alcohol service to intoxicated, disruptive or underage persons. Alcoholic beverages may not be removed from the premises.

Dietary Considerations:
Ovations Food Services is happy to address special dietary requests for individual guests with at least a 72 hour notice.

Standard Service:
All banquet prices include standard white linens, buffet skirting or drape, single service flatware, and other high-grade disposable products.

China Service:
China service is available for all catering services, including Coffee services.

All banquet prices include white, royal blue or ivory table linens and your choice of standard linen napkin colors. Additional colors are available for both table linens and napkins at an additional fee based on current rental rates.

Menu Selections:
Choose a menu from the preceding suggestions or have us custom design a menu for your particular needs. Menus for food functions must be finalized at least 15 days prior to the event. Click here for Menu Selections

Catering Supplemental Fees and Taxes:
A 20% catering supplemental fee along with 12% in state and local taxes will be applied to all food and beverage purchases. For all plated and served meals the catering fee will be at 22% plus all applicable taxes. For all off-site catering the catering fee will be at 25% plus all applicable taxes. Taxes are subject to change and the catering supplemental fee is not paid out to the employees as a gratuity. If your group is tax exempt, that information must be provided in writing prior to the signing of the final contract

A final guarantee of attendance is required 5 working days prior to all food and beverage events. In the event of a split entrée, the client is responsible to notify Ovations Food Services of the exact counts and breakdown of each entrée 5 working days prior to the event. Custom menus, which are not included in a package, will be charged at the higher entrée price. Billing will be based on either your minimum guarantee (even if fewer guests actually attend) or the actual guest count, whichever is greater. The final guarantee can be increased up to 5 working days prior to your event. A $250.00 cancellation fee will be incurred for any cancelled services within 72 hours of the scheduled event. A $100.00 fee will be incurred for any additional setup required the day of the event which is in addition to what was previously contracted.

A non-refundable 50% deposit of estimated food and beverage expenses, as outlined in your contract, is due with the return of the signed contract. The final balance must be paid in full no later than 15 days after the end of the event. All weddings or events of a political nature MUST be paid 100% in full prior to the event date. All incidentals billed during the event are also due within 15 days of issuance of the final invoice. If payment of the balance due is not received by the appropriate date, a delinquent charge of 1.5% per month will be added to the payment. Checks are to be made payable to Ovations Food Services.

Credit Card Payments:
Ovations Food Services gladly accepts credit card payments from MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express.

Cancellation of food functions must be sent in writing to your Ovations Sales Manager or General Manager. If written notice of the cancellation is received at least 30 days prior to the event, 100% of the deposit will be returned. Any cancellation received less than 15 days of the scheduled event will result in forfeiting the entire deposit. Any cancellation received after the Final Guarantee has been provided (inside 5 days of the event) will result in a fee equal to 100% of the charges on the affected contract or signed agreement, whichever if greater of the two.
